An Investment in Wellness Helps Seniors “Live Vibrant”

The Brightview commitment to empower each resident to “Live Vibrant” includes a passionate, holistic approach to maintaining health and wellness. Silva K.M. Gerety helps lead that effort for Brightview and the industry.
Whether at the Brightview home office, at the individual Brightview communities, or in the senior living industry at large, Silva Gerety is a constant advocate for relationship-based care, and full-potential living for seniors and their families. Her “know-how” for directing Brightview’s dedication to providing great individual care and pro-active wellness services comes from years of hands-on experience and an impressive array of credentials, which include Master of Public Administration, Master of Science in Nursing, Registered Nurse, Nurse Executive Advanced-Board Certified, and more. At the same time, it is Silva’s enthusiasm for what she describes as her “calling” that helps enable and inspire Brightview associates to bring the “Live Vibrant” philosophy to life each day with every resident interaction.
Also taking good advantage of her activism, the Assisted Living Federation of America (ALFA) invited Silva, on behalf of Brightview, to participate in an Executive Focus Group to discuss the evolving role of health care in senior living. ALFA is a professional association that “serves as the voice of senior living; continually "raises the bar" for operational excellence; and advocates on behalf of members and the seniors they serve.” Excerpts of the ALFA Executive Focus Group are captured in the association’s Assisted Living Executive magazine where “… highlights from that conversation, throughout each specific discussion, always turned to [high] quality of life and community experience for residents and their families.”
The investment of resources from senior industry organizations such as ALFA, along with the leadership of resident-wellness pioneers such as Brightview, and the like-minded practitioners such as Silva Gerety and the community wellness teams who deliver care, is truly an investment from the heart.
