Brightview Senior Living Community Avondell Receives Regional Recognition for its Environmental Design
Baltimore-based Senior Living Company’s Retirement Community and local Architecture Firm Win Land Development Council Awards

Baltimore, MD — November 5, 2008 –Avondell Retirement Community, managed by Brightview Senior Living, an owner and operator of sixteen Retirement and Assisted Living communities in eight states and Hord Coplan Macht, Inc. (HCM), a full-service Baltimore-based architecture and landscape architecture firm, announced they were awarded a Development Council Award (LDCA) from the Home Builders Association of Maryland. The award recognizes HCM’s planning and design excellence for Brightview’s Avondell Senior Living community.

The LDCAs, sponsored by the Home Builders Association of Maryland (HBAM), presented HCM with the award in the areas of Community Development for Design and Planning and Construction for Avondell Retirement Community. Each winning project is judged on its sensitivity to the community and surrounding neighborhoods, care for the environment and the overall planning and design process.

“I was extremely proud to learn of this award of excellence for Avondell,” said Bryan Burnette, Avondell’s Project Director at the Shelter Group, Brightview Senior Living’s parent company. Mr. Burnette adds, “The entire team was incredibly diligent about creating an exceptional senior living community. Working together with HCM, we developed a beautiful and comfortable home environment for our new Avondell residents.
