Brightview Senior Living to Break Ground on Second Bel Air Senior Living Community

Bel Air, MD– Harford County government officials, Brightview Senior Living executives and local business leaders will break ground on Avondell, a new independent and assisted living community, on Monday, Sept. 25 at 10 a.m. Located at 128 West Ring Factory Rd. in Bel Air, Avondell will offer residents age 62 and older a vibrant social environment where housekeeping, cooking, transportation, and maintenance are provided by friendly and caring staff members 24 hours a day.

Harford County Executive David R. Craig; Mary Chance, director, Harford County Department of Community Services; Roxanne Lynch, director, Harford County Department of Government and Community Relations; and County Councilwoman Roni Chenowith are expected to attend.

“Because of the tremendous success of our first community, Brightview Assisted Living of Bel Air, we believe that Avondell, with independent and assisted living will be a great complement to its sister community and Harford County,” stated Phil Golden, president of Brightview Senior Living. “With our headquarters in Maryland, we are proud to be building our sixth local Brightview community.”

Sited on an eight-acre wooded campus with a pond, Avondell’s three-story, 134,600 square-feet Georgian-style building will have 24 assisted living apartments and 98 one- and two-bedroom independent living apartments, some with balconies. Community spaces will include a living room, theater, bar, spa, fitness center, café and an elegant lobby reminiscent of a large manor house. Avondell is expected to open in the fall of 2007.
