You Be The Judge!

When residents at Brightview at Catonsville start debating, the discussions get lively. And sometimes fiery! Welcome to You Be The Judge!
Each month, residents gather for the intellectual discussion forum in which facts from a real court case are presented. Residents then discuss the facts, share opinions and debate how they would rule in the case. All sides are heard before the actual ruling is delivered.
Recent Supreme Court cases, including FEDERAL COMMUNICATIONS COMMISSION ET AL. v. FOX TELEVISION STATIONS, INC., ET AL., ARIZONA ET AL. v. UNITED STATES, UNITED STATES v. ALVAREZ and the NATIONAL FEDERATION OF INDEPENDENT BUSINESS ET AL. v. SEBELIUS, SECRETARY OF HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES, ET AL., generate heated discussions with resident voicing their opinions on the facts. Once the rulings are shared, residents nod their heads in agreement or shake their heads in disagreement.
“We’re really exercising our brains with this program,” commented one resident judge. “Keeping up on current events, debating and expressing our opinions has never been more fun!”
