In partnership with VisArts, a non-profit organization that seeks to transform individuals and communities through visual arts, residents at Brightview Fallsgrove recently wrapped up an 8-week art program.
Led by VisArts’ artist in residence, Marie-Theresa Fernandes, residents produced multi-media collages based off of images from the community or from their own lives. The images were then transferred to fabric and then altered using paint, pastels, and stitching with brightly colored thread.
“We are so fortunate to have this wonderful partnership with such an engaging organization as VisArts,” explains Annie Anderson, Vibrant Living Director. “The artwork is beautiful and will contribute to a book Marie-Theresa is creating as part of her show at the end of the year.”
