When Brightview Woodbury Lake hosted the Ms. New Jersey Senior America Cameo Club at the end of September during Active Aging Week, the performance was standing-room only. The entertainers who travel throughout New Jersey were talented, of course, but residents, family members, and associates were there to support their colleague and friend, Virginia Campbell, an associate of the community for over 16 years.
“Everyone loves to see the Cameo Club perform,” said Patti Perkins, Vibrant Living Director. “But we especially love watching one of our own. Virginia’s soulful and emotional rendition of Etta James’ “At Last” was moving and could be heard throughout the community. We’re so fortunate to have these ladies, especially Virginia, showcase their talent.”
Virginia has performed several times in the community’s Senior Idol competition and has also competed in many pageants including in Atlantic City. At Brightview Woodbury Lake, she is a Resident Assistant and Vibrant Living Assistant. In 2010, she was awarded Caregiver of the Year for her hard work and dedication to the residents at Brightview Woodbury Lake.
