Brightview Columbia Charter Club member Margot Mirecki was born in Berlin, Germany and lived there until she met her husband Chester in 1957.
Once married, they moved to Washington, D.C. and eventually became Columbia residents when the town opened in 1967. They remained in Columbia and raised their children, Roman and Christina, here. Once her children were in school, Margot worked part-time for Hecht’s at the Columbia mall when it opened in 1971.
After she and Chester retired, the two traveled often. They loved cruising and spending time together, so she was thrilled when they were able to retire together.
I am more than ready; I can't wait to move.Margot, Brightview Columbia
With her children and grandchildren in Maryland, there was no question her next move wouldn’t be far. Margot said, "Thanks to my daughter, she knew it was time for a change. I want to be a little bit pampered."
Margot came to visit Brightview Columbia in February and expressed her excitement to meet new friends, get involved in activity and keep busy. "I don’t want to cook anymore," she said. "I'm really looking forward to a nice life at your beautiful place where everyone is so nice."
