Getting Started
You think you might need a senior living community, but where do you begin? Let us help guide you on your journey.
Making the Decision
Do I need assisted living?
Brightview Senior Living communities offer a range of options, from Independent Senior Living, Assisted Living, Memory Care, to Enhanced Care.
You might want to keep an active life, yet have fewer responsibilities - no more cooking meals, cleaning floors, or washing dishes. In this case, Independent Living is for you. If you need help with day-to-day activities like mobility or medication management, you might want to consider Assisted Living. If you or a family member is experiencing memory loss and needs care related to Alzheimer's disease or other forms of dementia, then Dementia Care in our specialized Wellspring Village® neighborhood is the right option for you.
We understand that some seniors have individual needs that require a higher level of care. You’ll receive special attention to your needs in our exclusive Enhanced Care neighborhood, where we provide additional help with things such as catheter care or ostomy care.

At first, paying for Senior Living might seem expensive, especially if you've lived without paying for a mortgage for some time. It might seem daunting to have a monthly payment again. But while the price tag may seem expensive, consider your resources and think about what you don’t have to worry about.
You may have a house that you can sell. You may have saved for retirement in a 401k or an IRA. You may have a pension plan in place. All of these can be resources for paying for Senior Living.
When you move into senior living, you won't have to worry about utilities, home maintenance, or property taxes. Plus, you'll have 24/7 help if you ever need it. Learn more about the senior living and assisted living costs.
What senior living community should I choose?
When you determine what type of senior living you're looking for, you'll want to start visiting communities in your area. Plan on spending time at each community. This is the only way you'll truly get a feel for it, meet other residents, and interact with the associates.
In some areas, there may be two Brightview Senior Living communities that are close to each other. Plan on visiting each one. While many of the amenities may be the same, each Brightview community has unique features that give it its own charm and appeal.
How do I plan a move?
If you've lived in your home for several years or decades, you may have rooms filled with items to sort through. Downsizing is a process. Set a timetable and establish goals for when and how you plan to move. You may want to get help from an expert who works with managing the physical and emotional aspects of moving into a smaller home. Visit the National Association of Senior Move Managers for more information.
