On Friday, March 19, Brightview West End turned up the heat with a Spring Break Miami Beach party. Latin DJ Ivan, steel drummers, and a flamenco dancer set the scene, and diffusers wafted coconut oil through the air. Residents sipped signature Miami Vice cocktails while sitting in beach chairs around an indoor beach.

Brightview West End Vibrant Living Director Josh Graf said creating an immersive beach experience was the goal. “I wanted residents to be able to experience being at the beach using all of their senses,” he said.
The residents couldn’t wait to slip off their shoes and dig their toes in the sand. Graf describes the experience of one resident, Mary Anne. “She stood there with her feet buried in the sand, closed her eyes, and said, ‘This brings back so many wonderful memories of vacationing at the beach.’“
It is no surprise that residents felt transported to Miami during the party. “I wanted residents to fully experience relaxing at the beach after the past year of the ups and downs of COVID,” Graf said.
