This August, three residents from Brightview Shelton traveled to Foxwoods Casino in Mashantucket, Connecticut, to take on the thrill of the 3700-foot long and 350-foot high HighFlyer Zipline. Inspired by a resident, Linda, who had ziplining on her bucket list, Brightview Shelton's Vibrant Living Director, Cari Edwards, organized the excursion. At Brightview, we approach Vibrant Living activities and events with a "Why Not?" philosophy. If a resident has a wish, we strive to make it happen!
The residents prepared for their thrill-seeking adventure; they watched videos of people riding the zipline, and they took the stairs more often so they could ascend the 55 steps to the top. The three residents were excited, and when they landed, they all said, "Anyone could do this! I don't know why I ever doubted myself." Cari agreed, stating, "I'm so happy to be in a position where I get to help our residents stop doubting and start doing!"
Cari shared that another group of Brightview Shelton residents asking to do the trip again, and others want to try the casino's go-kart track.
